A Good Business Is A Clean Business
When it comes to running a business, there’s a lot of responsibility one has to take on in order to make sure their company is successful. Outside of the marketing, the selling, and the hard work of providing a particular product or service of the best possible quality, there is also the cleanliness of the company’s environment. The responsibility of keeping your business clean is just as important as all the other aspects of the company. Why? Well we all know why. Not only is a clean business inviting to customers and potential clients, it also keeps your employees safe which is always important, but especially so now that we face the COVID-19 pandemic. So, what’s the point of this blog? Not to continually state the obvious of how beneficial a clean business is, but to break down how to improve the quality of cleaning.
First, let’s talk about what to clean. Certain places tend to attract more germs than others. Obviously places like restrooms and kitchens/break rooms fall in the category of these certain places. But all offices, cubicles, work stations, and communal places in your business should always get thorough cleanings and sometimes multiple cleanings a day. Let’s start with the obvious places, the bathrooms and kitchen/break rooms. Knowing the waste, we leave behind within restrooms and since food is stored and eaten mostly in the kitchen it’s obviously why these places are important to keep clean. Personal offices and cubicles on the other hand it might not be obvious to see why multiple cleanings or at the very least disinfecting throughout the day is just as important. Constantly touching multiple services throughout the day transfers germs from hands to keyboards, office supplies, and other things you touch and well as germs from your face and mouth being transferred to your phone.
Second, let’s break down the most efficient way to tackle these areas. Of course, these places are important cleaning grounds. Depending on your business depends on how much they should be cleaned. If you have high traffic in your restrooms like a restaurant than you should definitely have multiple cleanings. However, for a low traffic business should be cleaned in the middle of the work day and at the end with periodic check ins on cleanliness throughout the day. The kitchen or break room should get a daily cleaning and be sure to clean out the fridge once a week to avoid mold and spoiled food. As for offices, cubicles, and communal areas always be sure to wipe down and clean commonly touched surfaces such as phones, keyboards, and desk surfaces daily.
Whether you have a cleaning staff or it’s just you and your employees doing it yourselves, keeping your business clean is an important part of running a business. Not only does it help keep your employees safe from sickness, but it also helps make a good impression on customers and clients creating an environment that they would like to come back to. So, remember a good business is a clean business
